Press buy on an image page, pay with PayPal, download the file. No account, no password, no basket, no mailing list.

The sequence

The button opens PayPal. When PayPal confirms, this site verifies the capture against the exact image and the exact amount before releasing anything, then issues a download link bound to that purchase. The download starts by itself; if the browser blocks it, the link is on the page.

The file is the original: full dimensions, no watermark, metadata intact including the species name where one is recorded.

Why PayPal only

Because no card details ever reach this site. The whole payment side happens inside PayPal, which removes an entire class of risk from a small catalogue and is why there is no card form here.

The download window

Five downloads over seven days. Enough to fetch the file on a second machine or hand it to a colleague on the same project, short enough that a link pasted into a shared document does not stay open forever.

Institutions and invoices

There is no account system, so invoices are a manual step rather than a self-service feature.

Museums, universities and publishers regularly need an invoice with institutional details, or a single invoice covering a list of asset ids for one publication. Send the order ids and the details and we will issue one. This is routine; it just is not automatic.

For a picture credit schedule, the two identifiers you need are the asset id and the PayPal order id, both on your receipt and both stable.

Recovering a purchase

Nothing downloaded. Use the link on the confirmation page.

Tab closed too early. The purchase is recorded against the PayPal order id, not your browser. Send the order id and the link is reissued.

Link expired. Same answer. A licence you paid for does not lapse because a link did.

Charged but the page errored. Exactly what the verification step exists for. The capture is recorded here; send the order id and the file follows. If the capture genuinely failed, PayPal will not have charged you.

What is stored

The order id, the asset id, the amount and the payer email PayPal reports. Nothing else: no account, no profile, no marketing list, no payment details.

Free frames

Some images here are free. They download with no payment step and no expiry, under exactly the same licence, including educational and commercial use.

They exist so you can check the file quality, the colour handling and the accuracy of the record before spending anything. They are not a trial and never convert into a charge. If a page shows a price it is paid; if it shows a download button it is free.
