Can you resell these meadow photos? – Curated Meadow Photos

You cannot sell the file. You can sell what you make with it.

Not permitted

• Uploading to another stock library, marketplace or free-image site.
• Bundling into a download pack, asset archive or resource collection.
• Shipping inside a template, theme, preset or design kit.
• Print-on-demand where the photograph is the entire product.
• Datasets and model training.
• Handing the original file to a colleague or client for their own separate work.

Permitted

• Books, field guides, journals and magazines you sell.
• Courses, paid workshops and educational resources.
• Packaging, print and advertising at any run.
• Websites, apps, campaigns and client deliverables.
• Interior prints and exhibition pieces as part of a scheme.
• Merchandise carrying your design.

Field guides and identification resources

The obvious use for this catalogue, and it is fully permitted. Selling a printed or digital guide containing the photographs is fine, because the reader is buying the guide.

Two things it does not cover. Supplying the images as a separate downloadable image set to your readers is redistribution. And building an identification app that ships the photographs as bundled assets which users can extract is also redistribution, even though the app is clearly a product of yours. If the images travel as files the user ends up holding, you need a different arrangement; write and describe it.

Displaying them from your own server inside an app is fine.

Courses and teaching

Slides, handouts, course platforms and paid workshops are all covered. Distributing a folder of the images to students is not.

That distinction sounds pedantic and it is the whole rule: the image may be shown as widely as you like and may not be handed over as a file.

Print-on-demand

Listing a photograph as a wall print where the picture is the product is reselling the file. The same photograph as one element of a composition of yours is your work and you may sell it.

Volume

Any number of files for a project is fine. Systematic acquisition of a large share of the catalogue for republication is redistribution under another name; write first and we will answer plainly rather than after the fact.

Conservation organisations

Wildlife trusts, reserve managers and species recording groups use this kind of material constantly, usually with no budget.

The standard licence covers everything such an organisation normally needs, at fifteen dollars a frame. If that is genuinely a barrier for a non-commercial conservation or education project, write and describe it. That conversation is worth having and it is a short one.
