How do you report a problem or a correction on these meadow photos? – Curated Meadow Photos
What to send for a one-reply answer, why botanical corrections are especially welcome, and the two refunds that exist.
Send the asset id. Everything else is detail.
Every image has a thirty-two character asset id, present in the metadata of any downloaded file, on your receipt, and in the image page source. For anything involving a purchase, add the PayPal order id.
Corrections are the most valuable message you can send
More than any other kind of catalogue, this one depends on being right, and it will not be right everywhere.
If a species name is wrong, tell us. Include the asset id and, where you can, the character that decides it. "This is not that species" is useful; "this is not that species, the ligule is blunt rather than pointed" is what lets the record be fixed properly rather than merely blanked.
The same applies to habitat descriptions, seasonal context and insect identifications. A catalogue error propagates into other people's captions and from there into their readers' notes, which is why these are treated as more urgent than most support requests.
Common problems
Download failed or expired. Send the order id; reissuing is immediate.
File will not open or looks corrupt. Send the asset id and the byte size you received.
Smaller than the page said. Send the asset id and the real dimensions. A wrong specification table is a catalogue error and it is refunded.
A species is missing from the catalogue. Worth telling us. It is a gap in what has been photographed rather than in the index, and it changes what gets shot next.
Rights complaints and takedowns
If you believe an image infringes your copyright, or shows property or a person in a way requiring a release we do not hold, write with the asset id, your interest in the material, and enough detail to identify it. The image is withdrawn while the matter is examined, not afterwards.
If you are the photographer of a frame you believe was published here without permission, say so in the first line with whatever evidence of authorship you have. Treated as urgent.
Refunds
No general refund on a delivered digital file. Two exceptions, honoured without argument: a file that is not what the page described, and a duplicate charge for the same image.
What we cannot do
Identify a plant from a photograph you send us, advise whether a use is lawful in your jurisdiction, or confirm ecological claims. We can state what the licence permits and what the catalogue record actually says, and we will, including where it says nothing.
Two working days is normal.
